Cavern Adventures is a sim game in which you dig down, fight monsters, and build resource generators. Here are some insights of mine:
- Some notes:
- You can get some adventures into the Agency pool by repeatedly fighting the battles in the Airship Harbor.
- The game doesn’t say directly, but Aura Water isn’t just used to “give staff an aura”. It’s also used to uncap shields for further development and also got leveling up some staff. There’s only one way to get those — build wells.
- This game is offline single player, it’s ad-free (at least on PlayStation), and there are no micropurchases. There aren’t even any DLCs.
- You need a Material Depot on any floor with a tenant facility on it.
- The deeper the tenant facility, the more you can get from it.
- Gold can only be gotten rid of by leveling adventures, so if you do NG+ with fully leveled adventures, better hope you can build some safes soon because earning it is one criteria for ranking up and you can’t earn any if it’s stuck at max.
- Staff:
- Explorers: Dig up treasures during the day (Mining mode). They won’t dig where it’s dark. If you want to stop thieves guaranteed, remove/dismiss all of these when you first see the warning.
- Construction: Build and repair items and structures during the day. They won’t build in a dark room. You can soft-lock yourself if you don’t have at least one. You can unlock yourself by dismissing a drone via the Staff Dormitory at night (Exploration mode) and hiring one.
- Miners: Dig during the day. They won’t dig in the dark. Once you finish level 100, you no longer need them.
- Freight: Takes ore to storage during the day. I’m not sure what else they do.
- Facilities: Run all the resource generators and the Material Depots during the day. You’ll need one per generator and depot.
- Adventurer: Fight monsters, clear smoke, drop candles in dark rooms, and put loot and resources into storage at night. Unlike all the other staff, these are named and there are only a finite number of them whereas with the rest you can have as many as you have room for.
- Remodeling:
- The Staff Dormitory requires a certain rank before you can remodel it. The interface tells you which rank you need to attain.
- The rest of them require a combined sum of the levels of the adventures housed therein.
- Diamonds are the premium currency, but are ridiculously easy to get. Just make a bunch of resource generators and sell resources you get from them. It’s 1:1, but it adds up quickly. The only resources you can’t sell are gold and ore.
